Cuivre River State Park Missouri Engagement Session

November 7, 2018

As a photographer, sometimes I get to travel! This week’s engagement session took me to Cuivre River State Park in Troy, Missouri. That’s a direction I’ve never been to shoot before! Fall drives are one of my favorite peaceful things. I love taking in the pretty scenery while listening to music. I had the help of a few of my new favorite albums For King and Country’s Burn the Ships and Lauren Daigle’s Look Up Child. SO good and uplifting! Though the drive was long, it was beautiful! We had so much rain in Iowa, we kinda missed out on all that beautiful fall color. But, Missouri? They had color to the max!

After a few hours of driving, I arrived in Troy. Why drive all the way to Missouri? Because Scott and Mandie have found a new place to call home there! I’m a little jealous because just minutes from their home is the breathtaking Cuivre River State Park! It was gorgeous!! Scott and Mandie welcomed me into their home and we started our session by snapping a few photos of them with their pups, Gus and Gwen, before heading to the park. When we entered the park, Mandie was a little worried we wouldn’t have enough color. We gratefully found the most beautiful patches of color though! Check out those bright red leaves!

These two are planning their Iowa wedding for next fall at a brand new venue in Promise City: Emerald Hills! After hearing a little more about Mandie’s vision, I’m so excited to see everything she’s planning! She’s got style and an eye for beauty. In addition to that, these two are so cute together and fun to be around. I know their wedding day is going to be gorgeous! But, more importantly, their marriage is going to be even more beautiful and fulfilling.

Scott and Mandie, I’m so blessed to know you! Thank you for your hospitality and showing me a few of the places you love most! You have a beautiful home. If your wedding day is any bit as beautiful as your engagement session – it’ll be astounding!
