2017 Fall Mini Sessions

December 28, 2017

Festive garland spelling out “Merry Christmas,” color coordinated outfits, giggles and warm feelings. Six wonderful families gathering for quick little sessions in the chilly Iowa fall. Not often do I get to photograph families throughout the year, but this fall I offered a few mini session openings and boy were they fun!

First up is the Butler family. I’ve known this sweet family from church for as long as I can remember. Sara is an amazing flute player (I was blessed to take lessons with her in high school!), and has such a creative eye for color coordination. Every time I have a session with this sweet bunch, they look catalog-ready! I love it!

The Willams are special to me in another way: we’re related! I must say, I married-in to one good-lookin’ family! Joey’s parents each have 4 siblings (BIG family!). Angie is the youngest of them all and her little family of 5 is so cute together!

As you scroll through this post, the next family up is the Rummells and their adorable lab puppy, Daisy! She was so full of energy and loved every minute out on the beach with her humans. I can’t express enough how much I love the dedication of these families! Even when the weather predictions were not great, Laurie and her family were so committed to their session and I can’t get over the results!

I got a little teary eyed while working with the Mente family. Back when Joey and I were just dating, Kim and Terry entrusted me with watching their sweet kids all summer. I loved reconnecting with them during their session and seeing the three kids so grown up. Their oldest, Ashley, is a senior in high school! I can’t believe how much they’ve grown and matured in the last few years!

Sweet little brothers, Weston and Hudson were the cutest! They sat so nicely with Hudson holding his baby brother in his arms and giving him sweet kisses. Hudson wasn’t crazy about sitting for long though. He quickly got up and started dashing through the trees, playing hide-n-seek with his grandma! I love the shrieks of delight as he ran his fastest to escape her.

Last, but certainly not least, is the Johnson family! I’ve photographed this little family of 4 every year since I got my first camera. How fun it’s been to watch them grow as I’ve grown my business! I look forward to photographing them again, and again!

Thank you to each and every one of these families! I love knowing all of you and it fills my heart to watch you in all your wonderful stages of life together!
