Blush and Burgundy Fall Wedding

September was quite the whirlwind of a month. With five weddings in just five weeks, I was pretty busy! I’ve loved every moment though. Because photographing beautiful days for the most amazing people fills my heart with joy! I finished out the month with Eric and Taryn’s private family farm blush and burgundy wedding in Parkersburg, Iowa. Even though it was a tad bit chilly, okay, a lot chilly, everything was so beautiful! I just made sure to equip myself with many, many extra warm layers!

The morning of their wedding as I neared the farm, I could see the brilliant white tent stretching wide over the edge of the property. It was incredible!  Their ceremony was nestled in a grove of huge trees in the farm’s backyard. In the center of the tree-line was hexagon arch made by the groom himself! How cool is that?! Beautiful floral creations by Bancroft’s Flowers wrapped around the edge of the arch. SO stunning! Bancroft’s were also the florist for her sister’s wedding and even her parent’s wedding—over 30 years ago! With a ceremony setup this gorgeous—I’d brave the cold any day. Luckily their outdoor ceremony didn’t get rained out! After the ceremony, family and friends warmed up inside the big tent.

Their day was nothing short of a family affair.

It’s not often that my brides and grooms get to have their wedding in a location they are so intimately familiar with. Eric and Taryn got married on the grounds of her childhood home! She planned the perfect day filled with family, friends and lots and lots of rose gold accents! Their day was nothing short of a family affair. I’m convinced Taryn’s family really is a real-life version of the von Trapps! Just before walking his beautiful daughter down the aisle, Taryn’s father sang the most resounding rendition of “Thank Heaven for Little Girls.”  During the ceremony, Taryn’s brother blessed us with more singing. And then again, at the reception the WHOLE family joined in song to greet Eric into the family. What a special treat!

Eric and Taryn, you guys are rockstars! You didn’t let the weather ruin your day even for a second. Your ceremony was awesome to witness. It was truly a special day! Thank you for trusting me to capture it all! I wish you both the absolute best in marriage. There is no greater joy than living every day with your best friend!
