Galentine’s Day with Shelly Sarver at Tamory Hall

February 14, 2021

I spent my Valentine’s weekend this year celebrating — Galentine’s style! When I saw that Shelly Sarver was hosting a flower workshop at Tamory Hall in Pella for Galentine’s day, I signed up ASAP! A fun morning of creating is not something I like to pass up!

I grabbed one of my high school gal pals, Ashtin, to come with me and spend the morning before Valentine’s day decorating cookies with Koekies by Mimi, designing beautiful flower arrangements with Shelly Sarver and creating my first macrame with Love Knot Macrame!

As a wedding photographer, I see a lot of beautiful flowers! I’ve always admired beautiful floral creations, but this is my first time ever trying to arrange flowers. It’s hard! With limitless options, you could create so many works of art with the single placement of a beautiful bloom!

Besides accidentally cutting my finger with scissors (oops!), this was such a special and fun morning! Here’s a look at my first ever floral centerpiece! I had fun, but I think I’ll leave the floral design to the talented florists like Shelly and I’ll take the photos! 😉
