Backbone State Park Fall Engagement

October 30, 2018

Happy Wednesday, Friend! Do you have a favorite thing about fall? For me, I love fall drives through Iowa’s countryside. They offer the prettiest views and peaceful time to myself (needed as a parent!). Time away from busyness and high-traffic interstates. Let’s just say, they’re one of the most refreshing things I know! The drive to Cole and Carli’s Backbone State Park fall engagement session was just that — peaceful.

To say I’ve been looking forward to this day would be an understatement. I was SO stinkin’ excited to see Cole and Carli again and catch up! This time last year I was meeting these two over a warm cup of coffee (hot chocolate for Cole!). We had a few things to catch up on this year! So much has happened in both of our lives in the last twelve months — like me having a baby and them changing occupations — big things!

Carli and Cole chose to their session at Backbone State Park near where they both grew up. It was so fun to see a few of the places these two call home. The views at Backbone were stunningly perfect. Everything was sublimely serene. Carli planned the most gorgeous fall color scheme to go with Iowa’s fall beauty. Her palette included some of my favorite autumn colors. Burgundy, burnt orange and my absolute favorite — a lavender field vest! If you want to know how to pull at my heartstrings, wear purple. It gets me every time! Gah, love that color!! And I pretty much love everything about this session, picking favorites was HARD! These sweethearts are too cute together!

Cole and Carli, Octobers are our thing! I loved meeting you last year, I’m thrilled to capture your engagement this year, and I CAN’T WAIT to spend a whole day with you at your wedding next year! Enjoy this season of engagement, it’ll be gone before you know it. Until next time!!
