Graduate Hotel Iowa City Wedding Photographer

Iowa summers always bring the promise of swealtery, humid days. While Jesse and Kate’s wedding day may have been quite warm, that didn’t stop them from having the most beautiful celebration at the Graduate Iowa City following their St. Mary’s wedding ceremony in Riverside!

Kate chose St. Mary’s as their ceremony location because it’s the exact same church her parents were married in! How sweet is that?!

Their wedding day, planned by Emily of Soiree, was absolute perfection! Dusty blue with accents of navy and grey were the perfect combination with Kate’s lace Essense of Australia dress from Ellynne Bridal. Kate’s perfect cascading bouquet from Julie’s Fountain of Flowers doubled as her “something blue.” I know I’m gushing over details here, but also the ring Jesse picked for Kate is so perfect! I’ve loved it ever since we shot their engagement session in Dubuque last fall!

Their wedding was especially fun because I had my favorite second shooter with me — my hubby Joey! There’s nothing quite like a partnership built over 5 years to make for a great wedding photography team! We even got to sneak in a little dancing together during Felix and Fingers dueling pianos anniversary dance — something we haven’t done for quite awhile!

Jesse and Kate are quite the adventurers! From travels here in the US to international, they’ve been so many fun and exciting places!

Marriage will be a whole new adventure for them! They’re starting their new life together as husband and wife with a cross country move to a whole new state! When I asked them about their plans, they were beyond excited for the new things they would get to experience together and where it will take them!

Kate and Jesse, never stop adventuring together! You guys already know what it means to explore new things as a team — I pray you never stop! Being married to your best friend is truly a joy! I know that may sound cliche, but I promise, it’s the truth!!
