Palisades Fall Color Iowa Engagement Session

Engagements

Nov 4, 2019

I’ve got the sweetest engagement session to share with you today! Every time I think about how blessed I am to meet and photograph such lovely couples, I do a little happy dance! Jenny and Jake are definitely one of those couples! Their Palisades fall color Iowa engagement session was so exciting to capture because these two are SO fun!

My very first call to Jenny, we talked on the phone for an hour. We bonded instantly over our mutual obsession for the color purple. Never have I met someone who loved that color as much as I do! We both confess we’ve been “the purple girl!” During our call I could clearly tell, Jenny was head over heels for Jake. I knew right then their love would be so fun to capture!

Joining him in front of everyone, he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife!

Jenny and Jake love live music. One night Jake was singing away during karaoke at a local bar while they were out for drinks. Jenny on the other hand, was perfectly content to watch from the audience. She suspected something was up when he started singing their favorite song, Elvis’ “Can’t Help Falling in Love With You.” After singing a few lines, he called her up to the stage. Joining him in front of everyone, he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife! What’s even sweeter is Jake’s mom was there and got to witness the whole thing — and got it all on video!! That memory will be one they cherish for the rest of their life!

Beyond music, another of Jenny and Jake’s loves is fall. They specifically chose Palisades-Kepler State Park for their engagement session because they wanted to show off Iowa’s fall colors! Palisades did not disappoint!

After their session, Jake surprised Jenny with a date to her favorite restaurant in Cedar Rapids and an after dinner play at the theatre! Guys, take notes, because that’s the sweetest thing ever!!

Jenny and Jake, your love for each other is astounding! You’re so sweet together. You care for each other and it shows. I’m honored to be your wedding photographer! Thank you for braving the cold with me — it was totally worth it! I can’t wait to share the rest of your engagement session photos with you!
